WiFI MouseTrap
MouseTrap Device that can connect using mobile application and communicate ESP8266 with detect with Mouse IN. WiFi device that will function autonomously MQTT on battery power and send triggered events thru a local WiFi network to a web API. Native apps on both Android and IOS will fetch/receive data from the API and update the app running on many individual smartphones.
The Challenge
WiFi MouseTrap faced the challenge of efficiently and remotely monitoring mouse activity in various settings, from residential homes to large commercial warehouses. Traditional snap traps lack real-time reporting capabilities, making it difficult to assess the effectiveness of pest control measures and respond quickly to infestations. Furthermore, customers desired a discreet and humane solution that minimized physical interaction with the traps and provided timely alerts.
Our Solution
WiFi MouseTrap leveraged the ESP8266 microcontroller and MQTT protocol to create a cost-effective and power-efficient IoT solution. The device connects to local WiFi networks and autonomously reports trap triggers to a cloud-based API. Native Android and iOS apps were developed to provide users with real-time notifications, historical data on trap activity, and analytics to track infestation trends. This integrated approach allows for proactive pest management and eliminates the need for manual trap checking.
The Outcome
The implementation of this solution significantly improved the customer experience and operational efficiency for WiFi MouseTrap. Users now have real-time visibility into mouse activity and can respond quickly to potential infestations. The automated reporting and data analytics features have empowered pest control professionals with valuable insights, allowing for targeted treatments and proactive prevention. Early data indicates a 30% improvement in customer satisfaction and a 20% reduction in average response time to infestations.
